If you’re planning to apply for your permit or driver license, you’re going to need a form called the VOE, or Verification of Enrollment. This is the state’s way of making sure your school attendance and grades are decent before they let you start driving around. You’ll need this form when applying for your permit.
Do you need a VOE to get your license in Texas 2020?
Due to school closures statewide, Verification of Enrollment (VOE) documents will not be required for current learner license holders to have the additional driver restriction removed.
Can I get my Voe online?
If students need to get a Verification of Enrollment (VOE) document during this time, they may do so online. Students under 18 years of age who are applying for a drivers permit/license or change to either document will require a VOE by the Department of Motor Vehicles.
Do lenders do Voe after closing?
The verbal VOE must be obtained within 10 business days prior to the note date for employment income, and within 120 calendar days prior to the note date for self-employment income. Alternatively, lenders may obtain the verbal VOE after closing, up to the time of loan delivery.

When does the Texas Voe form expire?
ANY MISREPRESENTATION BY THE APPLICANT OR PERSON ISSUING THE FORM MAY RESULT IN DENIAL OF AN APPLICATION FOR A TEXAS DRIVER’S LICENSE AND/OR CRIMINAL PROSECUTION. Expiration: Any VOE issued during the school year (traditional, year round, etc.) expires 30 days after issuance.
When do you Sign Your Voe in the summer?
Don’t worry. As long as you get your VOE signed within the last five days of the school year, it will stay valid all summer long until school starts again in the fall. If you need to get your VOE during summertime, your school district’s administrative office should still be open and available for this.
Where do I fill out my Texas Voe form?
Sign the form, and have a parent or guardian sign in as well. Bring the VOE to the administrator’s office at your school. The school administrator will fill in their name, title, phone number, and the issuance date. Six hours with this course and you could be in the driver’s seat!
