Jessica Chastain pulled off a major transformation when she attended the 2023 Met Gala earlier this week.
The 46-year-old actress arrived to the biggest night in fashion sporting platinum blonde hair instead of her signature red locks.
Her blonde moment was a dramatic departure from what fans were used to, and she had red hair just a few days earlier at another event.
So did she actually color her hair? She answered that question and explained why she went blonde in a new interview.

Jessica made it abundantly clear that she was only wearing a wig when she attended the Meet the Nominees press event hosted for Tony nominees with flame red hair again.
“So many people thought I dyed [it],” she said during an interview with Extra at the event. “A lot of people didn’t even know it was me.”
As for why she made the change, she explained that she “was just channeling Karl. It was a tribute to Karl Lagerfeld, so I was like, ‘Okay, let me channel him the best I can without it feeling like something silly.’”
“I had a lot of fun that night, so I don’t know. They might,” she said when asked if blondes really have more fun. “It’s more fun when you get to change it up — that’s fun. When you get to step and and be like ‘I am going to be a blonde tonight.’”
