CES 2022 showcased some fantastic new monitors slated for release, including world-firsts in the form of new QD-OLED displays and the world's thinnest monitor, but it's the Samsung Odyssey Ark that may have stolen the show with one of their most impressive monitors to date.

The massive 55" curved screen takes gaming and productivity to a whole new level, and we've got our ear to the ground for any news as to when it will arrive.

Does The Samsung Odyssey Ark Have A Release Date?

We're still waiting for a concrete release date to be announced, but are there any clues that could give us an idea of when to expect it?

Well, at this point we've only got its CES 2022 reveal to go on. CES 2022 typically showcases products that will release in the year, so we're hopeful that the Samsung Odyssey Ark will head our way sooner rather than later.

That being said, at this stage, we may all have to sit tight and wait to hear from Samsung themselves. We'll keep you updated with all the latest when we hear more.

Samsung Odyssey Ark Specs

So if you thought this massive display was all show, think again. The monitor packs an impressive resume making it great for gaming.

While it doesn't include QD-OLED like the Samsung Odyssey G8QNB, it is an impressive quantum mini-LED, 4K display coming in at a whopping 55 inches, with a 1000R curve.

Under the hood, you're getting a 1ms response time and a 165hz refresh rate. Response times tend to be a little longer with larger displays and more pixels, so we're interested to see how this fairs when we can get hands-on with it.

More good news for gamers comes with the fact it's a 16:9 ratio, not 21:9 as is the case with many of the best ultrawide monitors.

That's a massive bonus, especially as PS5 does not support ultrawide officially, and neither does Xbox Series X.

Asides from that specs are fairly thin on the ground for the monitor. We can predict that brightness will be at 'eye watering' levels, as is the case with the G8QNB, but we'll all have to sit patiently until more is unveiled.

Samsung Odyssey Ark Design

Obviously, the real draw here is the futuristic, over-the-top design which can be turned vertically too.

Many people working in IT or coding use a vertical setup for monitors, but we'd imagine that this would simulate looking up a sheer cliff face rather than providing any helpful function.

That being said, the verticality of the monitor is impressive and we think it's more of a gamer-orientated feature that allows you to have various windows/ apps open and in view.

Practical or not, you can't deny that it looks awesome, and we're predicting it'll be very popular for those willing to splash the cash...
